Pastor Sunday Adelaja is the founder and Senior Pastor of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations, the largest church in Europe with membership of 25,000 in Kiev, Ukraine and over 500 parishes all over the world. Pastor Sunday, as he is fondly called, has written over 80 books, the recent of which is titled CHURCHSHIFT and was on the Top 10 list of bestsellers in United States of America within the first two weaks of its release. He has recorded over 3,000 sermons in audio and video and has an international ministry that reaches to over 40 countries including USA, Canada, England, Germany, Russia, Singapore. Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Holland, Indonesia, Spain, South Africa, Latvia, Israel, Sweden, Estonia, Norway, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Denmark and many others. He is an adviser to Presidents of many nations all over the world. Pastor Sunday is a graduate of Belorussian State University with a degree in Journalism. He also worked at Channel 7 Television, Kiev Ukraine between 1993 and 1994 before founding the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations in 1995. He has two doctorate degrees.
Pastor Sunday’s influence in the areas of church growth and evangelism has been noted by Charisma Magazine, Ministries Today and many other Christian periodicals. The secular world media, such as the Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, Washington Post, Reuters, Associated Press, CNN, BBC and German, Dutch and French national television have all widely reported on him. The Wall Street Journal describe him as”A Man with a Mission’ set out to safe Kiev and the Ukrainian President Yushenko acknowledged his strong involvement in the movement for democracy in Ukraine.
In August 2007 by the Invitation of the United Nations, Pastor Sunday Adelaja was a speaker for three sessions in the UN. Over 500 organisations and missions from different parts of the world and leaders from 80 countries participated in these sessions. Pastor Sunday has a passion for National Transformation and his church’s Soup Kitchen in Ukraine was once feeding over 2,000 people daily (now over 500 people) and ministers through outreaches to hundreds of needy in the streets and abandoned children. His ‘Love Rehabilitation Centre’ has touched the lives of more than 3,000 drug and alcohol addicts. He is a believer that the Church should have a positive developmental role in the society and believes strongly the role of microfinancing in poverty reduction.
Pastor Sunday has wide contacts and networks with global leaders such as Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Andrew Young, Desmond Tutu, Bentamin Nentayahu, Rudolph Gulliani, Kofi Annan, Madelene Albright, Nelson Mandela, Richard Branson and many other world leaders. He is a member of many international organizations including the Bill Clinton Global Initiative and was a member of the seven world Christian leaders (and only black man) invited by the government of Israel as advisers on religious matters, and as a representative of Europe.
Pastor Sunday is happily married to Pastor Bose Adelaja and they have three lovely kids. He will bring his passion and commitment to National Transformation with his extensive global contacts and networks to bear in GS Microfinance Bank Ltd as a Director.
