GROUP HEAD, FINCON,MIS & RISK MANAGEMENT

Clement joined the service of GS Microfinance (MFB) Limited on 7th July 2008. Prior to his inclusion in the GS MFB management team, Clement had served in several role of increasing responsibility in Johnson Wax Nigeria Limited (SC Johnson) system for 3 years in the Finance department. He joined SC Johnson Nigeria as an Accountant in 2005 (Financial Accountant Role) and promoted to the position of Manager (Finance & Accounts), a Senior Manager position in 2007. During this period, he led several teams among which are the Credit Management Team, Financial Reporting Automation Team and several other steering committees. Based on performance and the contributory effect of his role and team to the business, he earned two promotions within a space of two years, the last one being Manager (Finance & Accounts), a position he held till he joined GSMFB as Group Head, Financial Control & Risk Asset Management.

Before joining SCJ Nigeria, Clement has varied experiences with other companies among which are Amekon Nigeria Limited as Company Treasurer. He equally worked with First Bank of Nigeria Plc where he rose to Banking Officer. While in First Bank, he has varied experience covering operations, credit and risk management, technical support – branch, control, and staff training. He also worked for D. O. Dafinone (Chartered Accountants). Clement has attended various management training programs locally and internationally some of which are Sarbanes-Oxley (U.S.) Act’ Training on Corporate Governance & Internal Control, SC Johnson of South Africa, Johannesburg, and Practice of Management Training, Wokefield Park, Manor, Reading, UK, among others.

He has a B. Sc. Degree in Economics (First Class Honours) – Bayero University, Kano, and an MSC. Economics. He is an associate member (ACA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and also an associate member of the Certified Institute of Cost Management, Nigeria (CIMN).
